In 2021, Nestlé USA identified the need to provide meaningful career development to their diverse talent throughout the organization in order to retain top talent. They were looking for a program that is scalable, measurable, and can make a quick impact. Not only does PILOT offer a program that is turnkey and accessible to the entire workforce, but it also addresses the most common needs of high-performing professionals including self-reflection, self-advocacy, soliciting feedback, and taking real-world action.

Nikki Odom, Senior Director of Diversity Equity and Inclusion at Nestlé USA, coordinated the success of PILOT by selecting high performers to participate, driving manager participation alongside their employees, and displaying visible leadership support with inspiring and highly attended Executive Fireside Chat Sessions.

Nikki’s supportive presence and push for leadership involvement influenced the success of PILOT resulting in increased retention rates of participants and increased collaboration and leadership empowerment scores.
